There was no encore for this show.
Good Lovin' ends rather abruptly and may be cut, as I have no comparison.
There is a dropout or two on this recording, but it was a cassette
master, so they could very well be tape flips. Overall great sound
on this show. Thanks to Jon Boltz for the DAT seed.

Freaky Friday the 13th
Great, Great show, really good recording. The Rango versions are all really good but they distort during the bomb drops in CR&S, this one doesn't distort. In some ways the distortion adds to the feeling of the whole planet tilting slightly off axis when Phil decides to shake the universe with his Q6.
The Eyes of the World is my favorite version from the 80's and beyond. No easy listening tooter to take up our precious Jerry time, pure Jerry bliss. My favorite D/S, croaking raven and all. The China Rider bridge just goes nuts at about the 6 minute mark and stays there for the rest of the show. I wish all shows (except for the Friday the 13th show the next year) would end like this one did - with no encore.
I love Friday the 13th, always have and this one was the best Friday the 13th of my life. The space ship landing scene from Close Encounters was playing out during the second set, swirling clouds and streaking colored lights flying through the night sky. A week later we had a massive close encounter on the beach near Half Moon Bay at like 3am. 20 feet over my head, the size of a football field and completely silent. Not the first or last time we saw unidentifiable objects buzzing all around our heads. Phil even saw it while driving between Boise and SLC during the late summer tour. Later in Hartford it stopped by for a quick visit.
'83 was such a fun year. The liquid flowed like wine. I like visiting that 90% of our brain that never gets used in day to day life - That visitation is the concept that the whole GD scene was founded upon.
Wake up to find out...
